KYLE KUBO & FATIMA LIAQAT
Kyle Kubo & Fatima Liaqat are 2021 CAPE New Writers Fellows who have been writing and producing comedy together since their days creating viral videos for BuzzFeed and performing indie improv for no one. Kyle is a biracial Japanese/white joke wonk who loves punching up dialogue and kicking up jokes-per-minute. Fatima is a queer, disabled Pakistani whose observational storytelling breathes life into funny, flawed, characters who defy the odds and wipe their hands on their pants. Together they write diverse, half-hour comedies that have placed in the Austin Film Festival and WeScreenplay Diverse Voices script competitions, among others. Their work has been showcased on the UCB theater stage, in the digital pages of Vice, Vanity Fair, Bustle, and Thrillist, and on their fridge.
