Creator, Writer, Producer, TV Showrunner

He is the Creator, Executive Producer, and Showrunner of the Emmy-Award-winning live-action series SUPAH NINJAS starring George Takei, Randall Park, and Ryan Potter for Nickelodeon. The show was #1 show in its time period for boys and won him the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Children's Series. He is also the Executive Producer and Showrunner of the acclaimed adult action series AFRO SAMURAI and its sequel AFRO SAMURAI: RESURRECTION starring Samuel L. Jackson, Lucy Liu, and Ron Perlman for Spike/Viacom. The series made history as the first animé to ever win a Primetime Emmy Award. Most recently, he is the Co-Executive Producer of the Emmy-nominated comedy series PRINCE OF PEORIA and the award-winning dramedy ALEXA & KATIE, both for Netflix. 

On the feature front, Leo is the Screenwriter and Producer of the spectacular hit animé film BATMAN NINJA for Warner Bros. and the Screenwriter of the adaptation of MY NEIGHBOR THE YAMADAS for Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli.

 Previously, Leo was the Vice President of Creative Affairs at Walt Disney Feature Animation where he developed and served as the creative producer of the Oscar-winning FINDING NEMO and SPIRITED AWAY as well as MULAN, LILO & STITCH, TARZAN, BROTHER BEAR, DINOSAUR -- and Pixar's TOY STORY and MONSTERS INC.    

Leo is an alum of Stanford University and the Writers Guild of America’s Showrunner Training Program. He currently serves on the WGA's Inclusion and Equity Group and co-chairs the Guild’s TV Writers Access Project. He also sits on the Advisory Council for the non-profit CAPE, where he founded and co-chairs its New Writers Fellowship. He has been invited to speak at numerous universities including Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern, USC, and the University of Hawaii as well as the WGA and Producers Guild of America.
