Our Community Terms of Use are designed to ensure that the CAPE online community is an empowering and safe space for all of our users. We ask that you treat everyone in this community with respect and basic courtesy.
Community Terms of Use:
Personal information and authenticity: This database functions by allowing each member to create their own profile. All user-submitted information must be authentic. CAPE will not be held liable for any discrepancy in the information submitted by users. If a user is found to have submitted false information, impersonated another individual, or otherwise violates this term of use, their profile will be deleted and the user will be banned from further use of the CAPE Database.
Protecting information: We are providing The CAPE Database as a free service to our community. Any user found harvesting personal data, duplicating content, selling data, using data from the database for advertising purposes, or reproducing content from the database without permission will be banned from further use of The CAPE Database.
Right to privacy: Please respect every individual’s right to privacy, and do not publish any information that is not yours to share. All personal information published should be your own.
Non-discrimination policy: Discrimination on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religion, creed, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, medical condition, genetic information, sexual orientation, or military or veteran status will not be tolerated. Any instance of discrimination or harassment found on any of CAPE’s public platforms (including The CAPE Database, or any of CAPE’s social media platforms) may result in an immediate deletion of one’s profile and ban from further use of the CAPE Database.
Non-harassment policy: Threatening, abusive, harassing, stalking, retaliatory, disparaging or defamatory behavior will not be tolerated. Any behavior that threatens the safety of another individual, or causes another individual to fear for their safety, will not be tolerated. Doxxing, or the non-consensual release of another individual’s personal information, will not be tolerated. This will result in an immediate deletion of your profile and ban from further use of The CAPE Database.
Multiple accounts: Please keep the database functional for all. If you have multiple roles in the entertainment industry (such as actor, writer, and director), you are allowed to publish details about all of your roles and highlight up to three roles in your user profile. Please do not create multiple accounts for each of your industry roles. If you believe that access to your user profile has been breached or otherwise compromised, please notify CAPE staff immediately.
Suspension and notice of violation: We may immediately suspend your account and prohibit further use of The CAPE Database without notice, for actual or suspected violations of the terms of use or community guidelines. This decision is made at the sole discretion of CAPE staff. Use of The CAPE Database is a privilege and not a right.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability: We reserve the right to update the Community Terms of Use by updating our website. We and our affiliates and agents make no representations or warranties about the suitability, reliability, availability, and accuracy of information available on The CAPE Database. We disclaim all warranties and conditions of any kind with regard to The CAPE Database and user-generated content found on The CAPE Database. The CAPE Database content may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. To the extent permitted by law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, punitive or consequential damages, including lost profits or business opportunities. Inclusion within The CAPE Database is not an endorsement of an individual. Use of The CAPE Database is at your own risk.
