RAJ BRUEGGEMANN

Storyboard Artist & Writer; Big City Greens (Disney TVA)

Raj Brueggemann (he/him) is a storyboard artist, writer and director living in Los Angeles, CA.

Born in Southwest Michigan, Raj grew up drawing and hoped to move to Los Angeles and direct animated films and tell his own stories. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2016, earning both a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business degree, and broke into the industry as a storyboard revisionist at Nickelodeon in 2017.

Raj worked as a story artist on a variety of animated shows, including Jellystone (Warner Bros) Pinky Malinky (Netflix) and 12 Forever (Netflix). In 2018, he was hired on Season 2 of the award-winning Disney series Big City Greens, where he’s worked the last three seasons of the show, storyboarding, writing and guest directing episodes of the show.

In addition to his full-time work, Raj has developed projects with several animation studios. He recently developed a sci-fi/fantasy film with Cartoon Network, and is currently developing a project at Disney TV Animation. His favorite film is Princess Mononoke – a film that reflects his love of nature – and his favorite filmmaker is the japanese animator Masaki Yuasa. Raj hopes to tell the kinds of sci-fi/fantasy stories that he would have loved as a kid – including stories with more South Asian voices.

In his free time, Raj works as an illustrator, comic artist, freelancer and dungeon master for his Dungeons & Dragons campaign. He lives in Los Angeles, and can be found by taco trucks.
