The CAPE Foundation, Inc. is a separate public charity (IRS section 501(c)3) which sponsors programs affecting Asian Pacific Americans in the entertainment industry. Its purpose is to:
  • Develop the next generation of APA executives, professionals and talent.
  • Educate the general public about the accomplishments and concerns of APAs in the entertainment industry.
  • Support media projects of relevance to APAs by providing a forum for producers and participants to meet, exchange ideas, and share resources.

The main programs of the CAPE Foundation available for corporate sponsorship are:

  • The CAPE Foundation New Writers Awards

  • An annual feature and television writers contest, prizes have included $4000.00, writing software, a staged reading, and pitching opportunities with motion picture and television executives. Open to members and non-members.

  • The CAPE Panels and Workshops

  • Panels and workshops for working professionals and the general public on topics such as TV programming, independent feature film financing, distribution, the Internet, digital filmmaking, casting, and screenwriting.

  • The CAPE Speakers Bureau

  • Respected APA entertainment executives have generously agreed to make themselves available to speak to organizations across the country. CAPE members have spoken at Harvard, Yale, UCLA, USC, Vassar, Loyola Marymount, and other top universities.
