NWA FAQ for 2008 Submission
Q: Can I submit an application to both the television and feature film category?
A: Yes. You may submit two (2) script titles per television category and feature category. Below are the possible combinations of entries and fees.
- 2 TV scripts and 2 Feature scripts = $160.00
- 1 TV script and 2 Feature scripts = $120.00
- 2 TV scripts and 1 Feature script = $120.00
- 1 TV scripts and 1 Feature script = $80.00
- 1 TV script = $40.00
- 1 Feature script = $40.00
Q: In the TV section, can I submit a script for a one-hour drama?
A: Yes. We will accept scripts for half-hour or hour long television.
Q: What length is acceptable for my script submission?
A: For half-hour television scripts, approximately 20-30 pages. For 1-hour television scripts, approximately 40-60 pages. For feature scripts, approximately 100-120 pages.
Q: What about original scripts for TV?
A: In years past, we’ve only accepted scripts for existing TV shows, but this year we are accepting scripts for both existing and original TV shows.
Q: What materials are considered unacceptable?
A: Unacceptable materials include: treatments, outlines, short stories, poems, novels, magazine/newspaper articles, audio/video tapes, drawings, or scripts adapted from other material (such as a play or novel). We do not accept non-prime time animation or musicals of any kind.
